The STARoundtable concept is simple: a regionally aligned network of recruiting and staffing leaders linked together through professional facilitators (who are leading, recruiting and staffing subject matter experts, with real-world corporate recruiting and staffing leadership experience).
STARoundtable is 100% regionally-focused. This means, that in each STARoundtable region, membership is by invitation or nomination from other members only to prospective corporate or organizational recruiting and staffing leaders within the region. With regional focus, a close knit, highly productive group of locally and functionally connected professionals can work together. In addition, there is no overnight travel required for the four quarterly meetings that are scheduled annually in each region. Each quarterly meeting is typically a ¾ day event. A very specific agenda is developed based on topics and themes that are directed by the members and the facilitators. The roundtable environment is a highly discreet, “safe” environment, designed to allow for 100% confidential dialogue around topics related to hot issues corporate and organizational staffing and recruiting leader want to discuss. Because the STARoundtable is a closed environment (i.e.: no vendors, third party staffing companies, staffing technology companies, etc. are allowed membership or access to the roundtables), members typically discuss and share experiences on the use of vendors, staffing companies, etc. Often this dialogue solicits the most opportunity to learn from each other.
We do not discuss “best practices” at the STARoundtable. Because many practices are “best” to one organization does not necessarily mean that they will be “best” to another. Because of organizational, cultural, financial, and other issues, we refrain from discussion the idea of “best practices”. Instead, we discuss and promote the idea of “success practices”. Success practices mean that those particular practices and processes either were a success or not inside of a particular organization. STARoundtable members learn more from Success Practices rather than “best practices”… frankly because “best” may not be the same for another organization.
Periodically, external guest speakers or members serving as guest speakers add to the STARoundtable quarterly meetings.
In addition, the STARoundtable members also have access to a highly effective library of recruiting and staffing tools, templates, and research reports available exclusively to members through a sophisticated online system. What is unique about the STARoundtable online library is that in addition to information provided and distributed by STARoundtable facilitators, individual members have the ability to upload and share their own tools, templates, and other resources with other individual members in a close-knit online file-sharing community. Members have the ability to simply search the library for a particular tool, template, or resource 24 hours a day. If they do not find what they are seeking, they can simply post a request and literally within minutes, either the STARoundtable facilitators or a member will be able to respond and upload that resource if it is available.
STARoundtable research also includes membership-directed research surveys and reports. The STARoundtable commissions several syndicated research reports (leveraging both internal and external original research from professional researchers) and studies each year within each region. Research reports are driven by membership direction and needs.
